Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026 • Peters Sinkamba Tanzania Limited (PS Tanzania Ltd)
Peters Sinkamba Tanzania Limited, trading as PS Tanzania Ltd (“PSTL,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect through our construction materials store, construction services enquiries, and building designs gallery, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices available to you. It applies to visitors, materials buyers, service enquirers, and design enquirers alike.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, including: your name, phone number, email address, and message when you submit an enquiry about a material, construction service, or building design; and your name, phone number, email, business location, delivery preference, and (for deliveries) the delivery address and an on-site contact name and phone number when you submit a materials order request through our Order Book. Order requests are held for our team to review and quote — no payment is collected at submission. Once pricing and delivery cost are confirmed with you, payment is arranged directly (mobile money, bank transfer, card, or cash), and we record the payment method and any transaction reference at that point. We also automatically record the language you select (English or Swahili) in a browser cookie so the site remembers your preference on return visits; this is the only cookie this site sets.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to respond to materials, service, and design enquiries; process and route materials orders to the appropriate supplier for delivery; send transactional notifications by email — for example an order confirmation or an enquiry acknowledgement; maintain accurate order and enquiry records; and comply with our legal, regulatory, and tax obligations in Tanzania, including BRELA record-keeping requirements. We do not sell your personal data to third parties, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.
3. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your data because it is necessary to perform a contract with you (for example, fulfilling a materials order), because you have given consent (for example, submitting an enquiry form), because we have a legitimate business interest in operating and improving our services securely, or because we are subject to a legal obligation, such as retaining transaction records for tax purposes under Tanzanian law.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
We share the minimum personal data necessary with trusted providers who help us deliver our services: Supabase hosts our database; Resend delivers transactional emails on our behalf (order confirmations, enquiry acknowledgements); and Cloudflare hosts our website infrastructure. We also communicate with clients directly over WhatsApp where a client initiates that channel. Each provider is contractually or by design limited to processing data only as needed to provide their service to us, and none of them are authorized to use your data for their own independent purposes.
5. Data Retention
We retain enquiry records for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your request and for a limited period afterward for service-quality purposes. Order records are retained for the duration of the underlying transaction and thereafter for as long as required by Tanzanian tax and corporate record-keeping obligations.
6. Your Rights
You may ask us to confirm what personal data we hold about you, request a copy of it, ask us to correct inaccurate information, or request deletion of your data where we are not required to retain it for legal or contractual reasons. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 9 below; we will respond within a reasonable timeframe and may need to verify your identity before actioning a request.
7. Data Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) across the site and access-controlled database storage. Order and enquiry records are not publicly readable — an order is only retrievable by the exact order reference issued to you at checkout. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we continually review our safeguards as the platform grows.
8. International Data Transfers
Some of our service providers (including Supabase, Resend, and Cloudflare) may process or store data on servers located outside Tanzania. Where this occurs, we rely on providers that maintain appropriate contractual and technical safeguards for cross-border data handling. By using our services, you acknowledge that your information may be processed outside your country of residence.
9. Changes to This Policy & Contact
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, technology, or legal requirements; the “Last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. For questions about this policy or to exercise any of your data rights, contact us through our Contact page or write to Peters Sinkamba Tanzania Limited, Kigamboni, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. See also our Terms of Service for the terms governing your use of our website and services.
